NSHI Supports Diabetes UK at the ADINJC & Intelligent Instructor National Conference and Expo
National Services for Health Improvement (NSHI Ltd.) was delighted to support Diabetes UK at this year’s ADINJC and Intelligent Instructor National Conference and Expo, held to bring together professionals from across the driving instruction industry.
As part of our ongoing commitment to improving public health and promoting disease prevention, NSHI nurses provided type 2 diabetes risk assessment checks, lifestyle advice, and signposting to support services for conference delegates – all delivered from a health pod kindly provided by Kinetik Wellbeing.
Promoting health awareness among driving instructors
Driving instructors spend long hours behind the wheel, often with limited opportunities for regular exercise and healthy eating. This lifestyle can increase the risk of developing long-term health conditions such as type 2 diabetes.
To raise awareness and support prevention, NSHI nurses worked alongside Diabetes UK to conduct over 100 diabetes risk assessments during the event. Using the Diabetes UK “Know Your Risk” tool, each participant received a personalised risk score, along with practical guidance on how to reduce their risk through healthier lifestyle choices.
Our nurses also signposted attendees to additional resources offered by Diabetes UK and Kinetik Wellbeing, ensuring ongoing support beyond the event.
This successful collaboration between NSHI, Diabetes UK, and Kinetik Wellbeing demonstrates the value of partnership working to promote preventative health care and early detection of lifestyle-related conditions.
“We were proud to support Diabetes UK at this event. By providing practical health checks and conversations around diabetes risk, we helped raise awareness and empower driving instructors to take proactive steps towards better health,”
