Proposed Diabetes Service: Register you interest
Are you struggling to provide your patients with vital Diabetes Support?
As a trusted partner to the NHS, we have previously provided practices with specialist nurses for asthma, COPD, diabetes, heart failure and other conditions. Now, we’re exploring the launch of a new Diabetes Review Service, designed specifically for adults with Type 2 Diabetes who are currently receiving oral treatment.
Every week in the UK, diabetes is responsible for 184 amputations, over 770 strokes, 590 heart attacks, and 2,300 cases of heart failure. These staggering statistics highlight the urgent need for effective diabetes management.
With over 4.3 million people currently diagnosed and an estimated 850,000 undiagnosed – diabetes is a growing crisis. Now, more than ever, primary care practices need additional resources to manage this complex condition effectively.
Based on this concerning landscape for diabetes NSHI is looking to provide a new Diabetes Review Service. This proposed service could offer fundamental support, by providing skilled diabetes nurse specialists to assist practices in delivering enhanced care and improved patient outcomes. Whether under NHS contract or funded by pharmaceutical partners in line with the ABPI Code of Practice for the Pharmaceutical Industry, we are committed to maintaining and improving the care patients receive.
