Day 1 – Anatomy & Physiology and Pathophysiology of Asthma. Discussion of NRAD and has your practice changed the way they manage patients with asthma.

Day 2 – Assessing and diagnosing asthma and investigations to support diagnosis.

Day 3 – Acute asthma. Asthma attacks and exacerbation management. Asthma in special circumstances. Performing asthma reviews remotely and face to face.

Assignment: Case Study relating to a patient you have reviewed to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the therapy area.

The diagnosis and management of the patient with COPD in Primary Care

Day 1 – Anatomy & Physiology and Pathophysiology of COPD. Symptoms, causes and risk factors. Understanding Chronic Bronchitis and Emphysema.

Day 2 – How to assess and diagnose COPD. Differential diagnosis. Investigations to support diagnosis. Pharmacological and  non-pharmacological management.

Day 3 – Recognising and managing exacerbations. Self management strategies. Performing a COPD review, remotely and face to face. How to recognise a deteriorating patient.

Assignment: Case Study relating to a patient you have reviewed to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the therapy area.
